Kiwi!

I don't often post videos, but for some reason this one struck me - I never thought I would feel so strongly for a little animated Kiwi, but you'll probably understand what I mean when the video is finished.

At the very least, I'm reminded of how worthwhile certain idiosyncratic enterprises can be, even if no one else can understand them, even if they mean great sacrifice. You have to admire that little Kiwi.

I know you get sad every time you watch this, and I get sad, too. I don't know why he didn't go to the trouble of putting a big pillow thing at the base of the cliff, if he's going to go to the trouble of nailing 50 trees to the cliff side.

Cute, persevering little kiwi.

I saw this and thought you two might be interested. Well more specifically, there's a 'Dave and Val' involved, but it's quite a different pair. Still, it's intriguing and great that the story is getting out there in the public.
And I tend to like the work of writers named Dave: Dave Eggers, David Sedaris...(hint to continue the lineage!)
